What mobilises Lebanon? Focus on mobilisations of Ethiopian Domestic Workers
In the past weeks, Ethiopian domestic workers have been mobilising to demand protection and their repatriation, as most of them are unable to afford costly flight return tickets. In a context of acute financial and economic crisis, many of them have been abandoned by their employers, without remunerations, or passports. Yet, neither the consulate nor the Lebanese State have been able to ensure their repatriation or protection so far. Indeed, under the Kafala (sponsorship) system migrant workers are deprived of their most basic rights, which leaves them vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, and precarity. Log in to your DM account and share your thoughts on this issue here.
ِAlso, follow the mobilisations on our Map of collective actions here.
