Erminia Chiara Calabrese
Erminia Chiara Calabrese is a Marie Curie post-doctoral researcher at Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona in Spain and associate researcher at the Center for Studies in Social Sciences of Religion (CéSor) at EHESS. She is the author of Militer au Hezbollah. Ethnographie d’un engagement dans la banlieue sud de Beyrouth(Ifpo / Karthala, 2016). She co-edited with Robin Beaumont the dossier: : « Chiismes politiques. Pouvoirs, engagements, imaginaires politiques chiites au XXIème siècle", Revue des mondes musulmans et de la Méditerranée and with Marie-Noëlle Abi-Yaghi « Liban – Syrie : circulations et réactivations de réseaux militants en guerre (2011-2018) », Revue Internationale de Politique Comparée. Her current research focuses on armed partisan engagements and the sociology of war in the Middle East. She is particularly interested in the journeys of Lebanese fighters engaged alongside troops of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria since 2011.
